About Us

Edgerton Travel was started in 1924 by F.W. Edgerton Sr., a ticketing agent with the New York Central Railroad. From this small beginning, Edgerton Travel continued to grow through the 1920’s and 30’s until WWII.

While pleasure travel came to a complete halt, Edgerton Travel along with the New York Central Railroad evolved to conducting government and military transportation. This enabled Edgerton Travel to continue operating throughout a nationwide travel slump.

In 1945, following the end of the war, the South Bend/Mishawaka office was opened, LaPorte in 1973, and Fort Wayne in 1985 – to finalize our three Northern Indiana retail locations.

In 2015 Edgerton Travel joined the Legacy Travel Group family of brands under owners and operators Steve and Kari Tjossem. Under Legacy Travel Group, Edgerton has gained new travel professional partners that help us to even further assist in all of your travel needs, while still staying the premier local agency that we strive to be.

Edgerton Travel has continued to grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing travel needs throughout the last 90 years. Today our travel activities concentrate on the following areas:
